About EdgeQuant Trading

EdgeQuant Trading is written by Mouad, an independent trader who runs funded accounts through prop firms (including Apex Trader Funding) and builds automated trading/backtesting workflows.

Most trading content online is either thinly-veiled ad copy for a broker/prop firm, or theory-only content written by people who don't actually trade. EdgeQuant Trading is the opposite: every article is based on strategies, numbers, and mistakes from real screen time — including the losing trades and blown evaluations, not just the wins.

This site does not sell signals, courses, or a "guaranteed" strategy. It exists to document what actually works, what doesn't, and the real mechanics behind prop-firm funded accounts and strategy testing.

Background & Experience

I trade E-mini and Micro E-mini index futures (ES/NQ and their micro contracts) intraday and swing, primarily through prop-firm funded accounts. My background is in systematic strategy development — building, backtesting, and walk-forward validating rule-based futures strategies before ever risking capital on them, funded or otherwise.

I've been through prop firm evaluations personally, including passes and failures, and I've had funded accounts breached by drawdown rules I misunderstood early on — the kind of mistake this site exists to help other traders avoid. Every rule, number, and mechanic described in these articles is either something I've verified against a firm's current published rules, checked against exchange data (CME Group specs and margin schedules), or lived through directly in a funded account.

What You'll Find Here

Prop Firm Deep Dives — Real evaluation rules, trailing drawdown mechanics, consistency requirements, and payout processes from the major firms. No marketing fluff, just what you need to know before you pay for an evaluation.

Strategy Testing That Doesn't Lie — How to backtest properly: avoiding lookahead bias, overfitting, survivorship bias, and unrealistic slippage assumptions. Including walk-forward testing, Monte Carlo simulation, and position sizing math.

Trading Fundamentals — The mechanics that actually matter: order types, leverage, margin, slippage, liquidity, stop-loss placement, and position sizing. Written from the perspective of someone who trades futures daily.

Market Structure & Execution — Futures contract specs (micro vs full-size), session timing, news-event volatility, contract rollover, and how all of it affects real execution.

Why No Signals or Courses?

Because the only sustainable edge in trading is the one you build and verify yourself. This site gives you the frameworks and real numbers to do that — not a black-box system to follow blindly.
